As a seasoned transactional commercial real estate attorney, I focus on empowering family offices, investment companies, and business owners to maximize their success in commercial real estate ventures. With extensive experience in reviewing, negotiating, and refining complex contract provisions, I provide invaluable legal due diligence to mitigate risks and ensure my clients’ transactions proceed smoothly.
Unlike many attorneys who discover their specialization later in practice, I entered law school with a clear vision to focus on commercial real estate. After graduating from Northwestern University School of Law in 1999, I developed my expertise at both regional and international law firms before transitioning to serve as in-house counsel for private equity groups involved in significant commercial real estate investments.
In founding AR | Legal Team, I sought to merge the personalized, hands-on approach of a boutique firm with the sophisticated expertise of larger firms. My mission is to deliver tailored, strategic legal solutions that align with the unique goals of family offices, investment firms, and business owners.

➤ Representative Transactions
✅ Acquisitions and Sales:
• Successfully represented a family-owned real estate company in the purchase of both a $151 million and a $145 million luxury multi-family complex (2023).
• Facilitated strategic acquisitions of triple net leased properties for a recently retired couple transitioning from multifamily property ownership to retail properties.
✅ Lease Transactions:
• Provide ongoing shopping center landlord representation, including the preparation of leases and related documents, for shopping centers across diverse states, including California, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, and Texas.
• Guided a landlord through the resolution of a contentious lease extension negotiation for a mixed-use retail property, which had previously been stalled.
• Prepare leases and amendments for the owner of an office tower complex located on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
✅ Other Transactions:
• Advocated for a ground lessor by negotiating a comprehensive Landlord’s Estoppel, Consent, and Mortgagee Protection Agreement for a multi-tenant retail site in Coachella, CA (2023). Successfully negotiated for the lessee to cover my attorney’s fees.
• Prepared legal opinion letters for borrowers in the refinancing of a six-loan commercial real estate portfolio totaling $62,100,000.00 (2024).
